Lately I have been really into fantasy and this book blew my imaginations mind.  There are two books in this series.  The second one is called Elvenblood and it is good and worth the read but the first one is AMAZING!  It is about a world of magical elves who have great magical powers and with those powers they rule most of the world they use humans as slaves and they treat the humans really badly.  The humans have magical powers of their own but unfortunately the elves keep a magical collar around their neck so they never know of their own powers.  When a human and an elf come together and make a child they make a wizard, a half human half elven person is very powerful and a group of wizards got together and made a war with the elves called the wizard war.  Sadly the elves played dirty and they won the wizards in the war and so the wizards stay in hiding deep in the forest.  The stories main character is about a girl named Shana who is a wizard.  Her mother got pregnant with her and the Elven lord that she belonged to kicked her out of his palace and into the desert.  Shanas mother stumbled upon a Shaman dragon named Alara.  Shanas mother gave birth to her unknowing that the dragon was there watching.  Shanas mother died and Alara decided to take her back to her lair and raise her amongst the dragons and that is where the adventure of this book really takes off.  Elves, wizards, dragons Oh My!  This book is definitely worth the read.  It really takes your mind on a fun suspenseful adventure.  I recommend it!!
