Netflix Pick:
This week we've been watching a pretty hilarious show on Netflix called the league. It's a sitcom about a group of guys and one wife who get together and play fantasy football. There's Pete Played by Mark Duplass who is a three time champion of their fantasy football league he's the guy that is always trying to trick his fellow footballers into picking the worst teammates so he can win, Kevin played Stephen Rannazzisi he's an district attorney and the league commissioner and he's Pete's best friend. He is constantly getting help with the Fantasy football league, Rodney played by Rick Kroll is a product liability attorney and my favorite character he was a dork in school but grew up successful with a very hot wife. He is constantly battling with trying to please his wife and trying to win at his fantasy football league.
Dr. Andre played by Paul Scheer is bald and rich and hilarious! His friends are constantly making fun of him for his style of clothes and his need to use hip hop slang.Taco played by Jon Lajoie He's Kevin's younger brother and he is hilarious! He keeps a bong which he calls "guest bongs" in all of his friends houses so he can use them when he comes over. Last but not least Jenny played by Katie Aselton. She is Kevin's wife and she is just as enthusiastic to be a part of the fantasy football league as her husband. Rafi is one of the guys friends who comes on the show occasionally and he is CRAZY! He is dirty and he is constantly getting boners.
Movie Pick:
So on New Years Day, when we are all battling our hangover from the night before, is a lazy movie day in my house. This year we watched several older goodies including the Goodfellas, but rented a newer movie on Amazon Prime called The Family. If you haven't seen the Martin Scorseze film, you should. Now I know we say that about a lot of the stuff we watch, but that's just because we have really good taste. This movie is about a mafia boss and his family that are relocated to a little town in France with the witness protection program after snitching on the mob. Though they have strict rules and surveillance operated by Agent Stansfield, who's played by Tommy Lee Jones, the family of four can't help but revert to their old habits.
The Blake family includes the dad Robert De Niro, a classic mob boss, the mom played by Michelle Pfeiffer, I absolutely love her Brooklyn accent, the daughter Dianna Argon, which is from the Glee series, and the son played by John D'Leo. Watching the kids find their place in the high school is awesome. I mean the daughter beats the shit out of a guy with a tennis racquet for even thinking about taking advantage of her. And the brother is like a genius in reading people and figuring out their motives so he can get what he needs out of them all. Its great.
Chaos ensues when the family ends up blowing their cover by solving their problems the only way they know how, by violence and blowing shit up! Their former mafia family, who's been searching for them and killing innocent families of four that resemble the Blake family, their fake name by the way, end up tracking them down and try to settling old scores. It's a pretty action packed movie, and very entertaining. We gave it three snaps.
Website Pick:
Our website for this week is a freaking awesomely hilarious podcast podcast.joerogan.net. I most recently listened to a really awesome podcast that he did with Roseanne Barr. It was hilarious and super informative. I am a big Roseanne fan so I couldn't wait to hear what her take was on a lot of the heavy issues on our planet. I really like Joe's style because he is open to a lot of different ideas. He is definitely against GMO and big brother. I just learned quite a bit about his take on Chem trails. It's definitely worth the listen.
Roseanne, but this made me change my mind. Maybe it's because she's a fellow islander, maybe it's her trucker mouth syndrome, or maybe it's because I agree with a lot of the things she had to say. Either way, y'all should educate yourselves and take a listen.Though this particular podcast was about two hours, I couldn't stop listening to it. I as well liked Joe's take on chemtrails. It's such a sensitive subject, and I thought he had some good points on it. I never really cared for Roseanne Barr, except in her hilarious role on
App Pick:
Our app of the week is similar to another app we've referenced on Lex & Mais, it's called Sound Hound. It's kinda like shazam in the way that you can identify music. You can hum it, sing it or play it. It as well has headlines of featured artists, song streams, trending tracks and more. I like to be up to speed in the music world and this app is definitely a helper.
You can also get the lyrics to your favorite songs. After sound hound deciphers the song you're inquiring about, you have the title artist lyrics, and it gives you the options of playing it for free in spotify, listening to it on iTunes radio, finding tour dates and tickets, launching the Pandora station, checking out the youtube videos and so much more. I love shazam, but this app is just superior, which is $6.99, but free for a limited time.
Urban Dictionary Pick:
Fantasy Football: A game for grown men that makes them regress back to childhood wherein they will turn on their best friends, argue to the death about anything, and become lifeless shells of their former selves.
Rick: You hear Tim got divorced, lost his house, and got committed?
Rod: Fantasy Football dude ..... Fantasy Football
