Welcome to Lighten up with Lex & Mais Its Super Fun Camping Time!
Look at that its Mustache Mics
This week we had a whole lotta fun going on what has now become our annual camping trip. We always go out to the beautiful Hana for Alexis' birthday. This year was the best weather by far. It was super hot, no rain, and perfectly blue sunny skies for days. Hamoa bay was once again the most beautiful beach on earth.

Good morning ladies
After our super fun camping time we went to see a pretty hilarious comedy show. Augie T was the comedian. He is a local guy who has some pretty funny local humour. The set up for this comedy show was pretty interesting. It seemed as though we were going to a conference or something but there was a cocktail waitress and the bathroom was close by so all in all it was a good time!

Well actually they work pretty good in wine
After the comedy show Lex decided that she had to get going home but Mais, well Mais she stayed out awhile longer and what did she do? Oh well she went and did some karaoke at a very unique karaoke bar. This karaoke bar is a bring your own drink and pupus (appetizers) kind of bar. You are in a private room singing your heart out with only your friends. No need to be intimidated by the mic when it's just you and your friends. Sounds like the perfect karaoke experience.

Food For Health:
ASPARAGUS
This weeks Food for your health is Asparagus. The veggie that grows under power lines and makes your pee smell funny. Asparagus has a lot of great benefits for a healthy body. Its a detox veggie rich in potassium and fiber. It is low in sodium so it won't make you bloat during PMS time. The vitamin A and folate make it a great anti-aging veggie and guess what else its also an aphrodisiac. So if you're looking to spice it up in the bedroom maybe throw some asparagus on the dinner plate. Asparagus is a member of the lily family and can be planted right in your flower bed at home.
This herbaceous plant—along with avocado, kale and Brussels sprouts—is a particularly rich source of glutathione, a detoxifying compound that helps break down carcinogens and other harmful compounds like free radicals. This is why eating asparagus may help protect against and fight certain forms of cancer, such as bone, breast, colon, larynx and lung cancers. It also helps to prevent osteoporosis and osteoarthitis because it is rich in Vitamin K Which aids in bone forming and repair so if you are suffering from those symptoms adding some asparagus just might make you feel better.
Like leafy greens, asparagus delivers folate, which works with vitamin B12—found in fish, poultry, meat and dairy—to help prevent cognitive impairment. In a study from Tufts University, older adults with healthy levels of folate and B12 performed better on a test of response speed and mental flexibility. (If you’re 50-plus, be sure you’re getting enough B12: your ability to absorb it decreases with age.)

Mozzarella cheese
Honey for drizzling
Slather the dough with the yummy parmesan sauce and top with mozzarella, yellow squash, asparagus, and garlic. Drizzle honey on top for an unexpected bit of sweetness. We grilled ours but it also works fine to put in the oven. This is a great recipe to bring to a dinner party to share or as a pupu (appetizer).

Netflix pick of the week
Ok so we like cartoons. Who doesn't right? Adventure time is such a great kids show and its great for the adult who is still a kid inside like us. Plus this cartoon is so funny. Its about a human boy named Finn and his super hero dog named Jake. They live in a magical land and they fight off any bad guys. The voices of their characters are so hilarious. Our favorites are the lumpy space princess and tree trunks. Definitely worth the watch for some chuckles with the kiddos.

Super good book to read
This book was a really great enlightening read. The author really gets personal about every day challenges of being a woman. It was so relatable and we both felt better about our own day to day struggles just knowing that we aren't alone and every woman has a lot of the same challenges. We should reach out to each other more often. Its a good one. You can download it right on to your kindle.
App of the week;
This app is so much fun. You take short videos and then you put them all together making a longer video. You can share them with your friends. The only bad thing is that it is only on the Iphone and so if anyone knows of an app that is similar for androids and droids and any other type of phone let us know. Search us on vine lexnmais.
Website of the week:
WHERETHEFUCKSHOULDIGOTOEAT.COM
This website is not only helpful but it is also hilarious. The first thing it asks you is "where the fuck are you" when it gives the suggestion on where to go eat it tells you "you should go fucking eat here" You can also change it to where the fuck should I go drink and it will give you a list of bars in your area. All around awesomness.
WHAT'S YO STATUS?
Defriended:
Ok I am sure every single one of us has been defriended once or twice by a person on our social network site of choice. There are always a number of feelings that happen once you've realized that someone had the audacity to defriend you. But what if this person is someone that you have to see in the real world social settings? Can you say awkward? Check out the show for all the details of our defriending experiences. What do you do in this circumstance? Leave some comments if you got any.
Postcard of the week:
Urban dictionary word of the week:
Defriend - To remove someone from your Livejournal,
MySpace, Facebook, or other social networking site. Doing this is often seen as a passive-aggressive move, telling the person without telling them that you no longer want to be friends. It's also commonly a response to drama. Defriending someone often causes more drama. There are sometimes valid reasons for doing this.
SNEWS
This week we found a really ridiculous story that we just had to share. A mother called the cops on her son because he stole her pop tarts. The most ridiculous thing about it is the cops actually arrested the womans' son over it and charged him with larceny. Now that is very loose butthole
FAR OUT
Sacral chakra:
The sacral chakra is located around the sacrum, the triangular bone that rests in the center of the pelvis and is associated with the color orange. The Sacral chakra is about feeling and sexuality. When it is open, your feelings flow freely, and are expressed without you being over-emotional. You are open to intimacy and you can be passionate and lively. You have no problems dealing with your sexuality.
If you tend to be stiff and unemotional or have a "poker face," the Sacral chakra is under-active. You're not very open to people.
If this chakra is over-active, you tend to be emotional all the time. You'll feel emotionally attached to people and you can be very sexual.
To balance the chakra you can try dancing, Bring the color orange into your life including sitting in silence and focusing on the color orange in the area of the sacral chakra, There is a yoga posture for balancing the chakra, and mais and I love doing hula hooping for balancing that chakra. Its a fun way to excersize and look awesome at parties any time you bust out some sweet hula hooping moves
