IT'S LEX
IT'S MAIS
Hey, Hey we are here to enlighten your day with all of our crazy shenanigans. This week we on We'a you stay had the absolute pleasure of listening to Atmosphere and Soja live on Maui.
Slug from Atmosphere is who we came to see so we were right up front. Slug was really great. He sounded almost exactly the same live as he sounds on his CDs. The beats were great. The whole performance was SICK!
Mais Rockin it to Atmosphere
Peace Slug you da man!!
When Atmosphere was done throwin it down we went to get our drinks. Of course we had to stand in two different lines one to get our scripts, or tickets, and one to trade our scripts in for some cold, expensive beers. No one wants to wait in that line to many times so a double fister is the best solution.
Waiting in line for scripts
This guy tried to get us to cut in line....we didn't
After we got our beers we went and met up with Trish da Dish. She is so funny and always a good time. Soja came on shortly after and we were impressed! Soja was absolutely amazing live in concert. They had a drum solo that would make anybody get out of their seats and bob their heads.
Mais and Trish da dish
We brought my sister Bailer to have some good ol fashioned concert fun so we went over to the little kids side to check on her and drive her underaged butt home. After the show we went to have some local kine grinds and found out our first show was up and running for all to see. We were pretty excited. We did a cheers with our cheap beers and finished off that perfect night in style.
Look what we found on the underage side....sneaks
It's celebration time!
FOOD FOR HEALTH:
LEMONS
This tart yellow fruit is good in more ways than just lemonade. Lemons have some great health benefits as well
1. Gets rid of acne. Dab some fresh squeezed lemon juice on your zit before bed, wash with warm water the next morning, and BAM! If it's not totally gone it will at least be smaller in size.
WARNING: It stings!
2. Gets rid of anxiety. Go buy some lemon balm essential oil, sprinkle on a hanky and huff away your anxiety.
3. Because of lemons natural anti-bacterial properties it gets rid of both canker sores and bad breath. Just squeeze some fresh lemon juice in warm water and rinse.
4. It helps to get rid of the cold and flu. Mix some fresh squeezed lemon in warm water with honey and drink it.
5. You can use lemon and honey as a wrap to help with eczema

We found a great recipe using the lemon juice. It is an alternative to a salad. It is called
Irene's Winter Salad
INGREDIENTS
- 4 cups bite-size broccoli florets
- 4 cups bite-size cauliflower florets
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup quartered pitted Kalamata olives
- 1/4 cup chopped soft sun-dried tomatoes (see Tip)
PREPARATION
- Place broccoli, cauliflower and water in a large microwave-safe bowl. Cover and cook on High until just tender, about 4 minutes. (Alternatively, steam over 1 inch boiling water in a large saucepan fitted with a steamer basket until just tender, about 4 minutes.) Drain.
- Mix lemon juice, oil, garlic powder, oregano, sugar and salt in another large bowl. Add the vegetables and toss to combine. Let marinate in the refrigerator, stirring once or twice, for 20 minutes.
- Stir in olives and tomatoes. Serve, drizzling with any dressing left in the bowl.

This recipe was a BIG hit!!!
GET STOOPID:
Mais has been having a fun time watching the regular show on Netflix. It's a really funny cartoon that is appropriate for kids too. Good family fun watching the boob tube.
Lex has been watching Reno 911. It is NOT kid appropriate but it is so funny. It is a mockumentary making fun of specifically the show cops. The comic actors are playing cops in Reno Nevada. It is mostly improvised making it an absolute knee slapper. Ive been watching that on Netflix.
APP OF THE WEEK:
EPICURIOUS. Mais stumbled upon this app at Christmas time when she needed a recipe for the kids dish that she was asked to bring to a Christmas party. Epicurious is a great app for all of your recipe needs. There's a tab for I can barely cook, a tab for I cook like a pro, it gives you recipes with ingredients that are in season, and our favorite recipes for cocktails. Mais made up some really great sweat pea martinis. Mmmm.
Drink up! (that is Scott the producer in the background:)

Urban Dictionary word of the week:

"Lex is such a lovely person"
MAIS: A beautiful caramel skinned woman who is mysterious and passionate. With those hypnotizing eyes she can read exactly whats on your mind.
"A: I fell in love the moment I saw her
B: How?
A: Are you kidding me? She's a total Mais"
We thought those definitions were right on. Go check out your own name on Urbandictionary.com
WHAT'S YO STATUS:
This week talk about what is the correct etiquette when it comes to having veggie friends with meat eating friends and vice versa. Should the veggie friend make a meat dish when having a dinner party? Should the meat eating friends go out of their way to make veggie appropriate food? It was a great topic and we got some great input back from our friends on facebook. Overall consensus was to make your own dish and bring it :) Check out our show to hear more about that topic.

FAR OUT:
What are Chakras? Chakras are centers of energy, pranas, or life force. They're located in the midline of the body. There are seven different Chakras and each one resonates with a different color.
1. Base Chakra
2. Sacral Chakra
3. Naval Chakra
4. Heart Chakra
5. Throat Chakra
6. Third eye Chakra
7. Crown Chakras
When the Chakras are in balance we can find more peace in our lives as well as less pain in the body.
Next week we are going to go into detail about the BASE CHAKRA. You wont wanna miss it!
